In February 2014, our center moved to its new building of approximately 9000 m². Our center, which started providing service with 52 dental units in the new building, increased the number of dental units to 116 as of 2018 with the new recruitments. The academic staff serving in the clinics consists of a total of 65 academic staff as of 2018, including 1 Professor, 9 Associate Professors, 17 Assistant Professors and 38 Research Assistants.

The dental volumetric tomography device, which is the first in Zonguldak and its surroundings, and which allows radiographic images of formations in the head and neck region to be obtained in 3D, and where surgical, orthodontic and prosthetic treatment plans can be made by taking sections when necessary, has been put into service in our center. With this advanced imaging technique, tomography device, patients can have higher resolution images with less radiation in a shorter time. In addition, with the images obtained with this device, our patients' implant plans can be prepared in a virtual environment using special medical monitors, thus preventing complications with pre-operative millimetric evaluations. The plans obtained with the dental volumetric tomography device and 3D radiographic evaluations can be recorded on a CD and sent not only to our center but also to other health institutions and private dentists.

In 2014, the procurement of a fully equipped operating room, where dental treatments can be performed under general anesthesia and sedation, and the equipment were completed and made ready to serve our region. As of August 2015, the Anesthesia and Reanimation Specialist started working at the Faculty of Dentistry, and it is the only tertiary oral and dental health center in the Western Black Sea Region that provides oral and dental health services under sedation and general anesthesia to children and disabled patients who cannot cooperate.

Thanks to the 3D intraoral scanner that has started to provide service in the orthodontic clinic, all diagnosis and treatment planning are made for both our child and adult patients without taking measurements with traditional intraoral spoons and impression materials, thus increasing the comfort and treatment quality.

It serves as the only oral and dental health center in the Western Black Sea Region with its CAD-CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) device, which became operational in 2016, enabling prosthetic restorations and filling treatments to be completed in a single session without the traditional measurement process, saving time for both the patient and the physician.

In 2017, a Hard and Soft Tissue Laser Device was purchased for our Center. The laser device provides both better service to the patient and a more comfortable working opportunity for the doctor in many areas such as cleaning tooth decay, aesthetic dental treatments, periodontal surgery, root surface smoothing, shaping the gums, lightening the color of dark gums, eliminating the sensitivity of sensitive teeth, aphthous and herpes treatments, surgical interventions in bone tissue, post-extraction wound healing, and jaw joint disorders.

In order to meet the opinions of our faculty members working in the department clinics and patient needs, out-of-hours treatment services are provided with the participation of the majority of our faculty members.

With the operating microscope purchased in our Center in 2018, it is aimed to increase the quality of the surgical procedures performed with minimum trauma and to make the patient more comfortable in the post-operative period. This system serves as the only oral and dental health center in the Western Black Sea Region.

In 2018, an Orthognathic Surgery set was purchased so that Orthognathic surgeries could be performed in our Center. In addition, as a 3rd stage Dentistry Application and Research Center, a Color Doppler Ultrasonography device was purchased for our Center in order to provide more effective dentistry services by providing faster and more effective diagnosis to patients and to shorten the diagnosis and diagnostic process as much as possible.

With the purchase of 3 units in 2018, the number of units became 118, thus increasing the capacity of the Center and planning to serve more patients at the same time, reducing patient waiting times and increasing patient satisfaction. As of 2018, the implementation of aesthetic fillings, closing the gaps between teeth, and bleaching the teeth to provide a whiter smile has accelerated in our Center's Restorative Dentistry clinic.

Our employees are regularly provided with in-service training within the framework of the Service Quality Standards implemented by the Ministry of Health.

As of 2019, the Restorative Dentistry Clinic of our Center has gained momentum by performing aesthetic fillings, closing the gaps between the teeth (diaestema closure), bleaching the teeth to provide a whiter smile, and providing aesthetic services not only for oral and dental health but also for people to live happier lives. In 2019, an Additional Clinic was established with 7 units to provide oral and dental health services to more patients, and again, in some clinics, units whose depreciation period had expired were scrapped and replaced with units manufactured in accordance with modern technology, and the number of units in our Center, which was 118, was increased to 124. In this way, it is planned to increase the capacity of the Center and serve more patients at the same time, thus reducing the waiting times of patients and increasing patient satisfaction.

Due to the COVID-19 infection that affected our country and the whole world in 2020, various precautions were taken in our Center within the scope of the studies carried out by the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of the infection and patients were treated within the framework of these measures.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 infection in our country as well as all over the world in 2021, isolation has been provided in 75% of the units in our Center in order to ensure patient and employee safety.

In addition, the flooring of the clinics' waiting rooms was changed in 2021, with the aim of providing patients and their relatives with a cleaner and more spacious environment. At the same time, since the tiles on the floor of the Center's foyer area were broken and posed a risk to both patients/relatives and employees, they were removed and replaced with new ones. In this way, the Center's entrance area gained a more modern atmosphere.

Serving a wide range of people in the Western Black Sea Region, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Oral and Dental Health Application and Research Center has a closed area of 8,145 m² and in our building, with 8 departments, 7 clinics and 2 operating rooms, students from the Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences and Ahmet Erdoğan Health Services Vocational School carry out their clinical internships, while specialist students from the Faculty of Dentistry carry out their specialist training and patient treatment procedures. Our institution is a third-level Oral and Dental Health service institution that receives patient referrals from the surrounding provinces, primarily Zonguldak, Bartın and Karabük in the Western Black Sea Region. In addition, 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of the Faculty of Dentistry continue their undergraduate education in the same building.
